So, what did you guys think of the draft?
I'm pretty happy with the Bills, especially their first two picks in Lynch and Pozluzny (sp?).
The Pats are gonna be damn hard to beat this year.

I follow the NFL way too close, so feel free to just ignore this brief commentary if you want...and I'm not kidding about brief, because I really tried to make it short.
Teams that had awesome drafts
Detroit- Was talk of them trading down, but in the end taking the best player in the draft Calvin Johnson should end up being a good call. Also landed Drew Stanton in the 2nd, and get a top notch QB that people thought they’d trade down to get. He’ll probably be one of the best to come out of this draft.
San Francisco- In my opinion, the best draft among all teams. Amazing 1st round pick in Mississippi backer Patrick Willis, taking him 1 pick before the Bills would have (and I guarantee they would have). They also made a solid trade with the Patriots to take tackle Joe Staley to get some much needed help up front. Trading a 4th rounder to the Seahawks for Jackson is nothing less than absolute robbery. Although injury prone in the past, he is easily a number 1 WR without question.
Cleveland- Nobody questioned how good Joe Thomas is as he was without a doubt the best tackle in the draft. However, some did question what they’d do at QB. They paid big to trade up and get Quinn, but it may very well be worth it, because they landed a franchise QB as he slide down the board for much longer than he should have. I honestly feel like this kid will be better than Russell who went 1 overall. Also like the Eric Wright pick at CB, but character issues may be a problem, and the late round focus on O-line to block for Quinn.
Buffalo- Very solid first day. Again they reached by taking Lynch early, but at least they made a smart reach this year. Trading up for Poz in the early 2nd was the smartest move of the draft in my opinion. I was hoping the Pats would take him in the 1st. First time in a long time that I feel t he Bills drafted well.
Atlanta- Jamaal Anderson will be an amazing pash rusher, and their two 2nd rounders couldn’t have been an better. Chris Houston is an outstanding QB and they finally have a guard that will allow Vick to stay in the pocket more often.
Carolina- Couldn't have made better picks with the positions they had. Landed a top linebacker, top center, and a top receiver in the first 3.
Tampa Bay- Can’t go wrong with Gaines Adams, he will terrorize offensive lines. Also extremely good picks by drafting one of the top guards and a big hitting strong safety in Arron Sears.
Above Average
New Orleans- Forgot losing Joe Horn. Robert Meachem will be the 2nd best receiver to come out of this draft and you can quote me on that. Excellent late 1st round pick. Also landed a an excellent RB, but I'm confused on what they'll do with him since they have McAllister and Bush.
Raiders- Could have put them in the top category but didn’t because to me they did what was expected with the #1 overall pick. Landed Russell who will fit their system well, and got a HUGE STEAL in Michael Bush in the 4th round. If he was healthy last year, he’s a 1st round pick. Also got a great TE in Zach Miller. Loss of Moss sucks, but he was on the way out anyways, and they traded for Mike Williams who perhaps can finally reach the expectations he originally had heading into the NFL.
Vikings- Excellent pick at 7. “All Day” Adrian Peterson would have probably been a top 3 pick if it wasn’t for his injury. Great value in the first round to get an RB that could very well be one of the leagues best down the road. I also like their Sidney Rice selection, but outside of that not too much that stands out.
New England - They're just absolutely brilliant. Excellent trades, although as far as actual picks only notable one is Meriweather. I can't wait for another Superbowl.
Arizona- Traded up to take Alan Branch in the 2nd. Very well could have been a top 20 pick. Also landed a monster linebacker, and a Devin Hester type kick returner in Steve Breaston, who could find some playing time at WR.
New York Giants- I hate the Giants, and I hate Eli Manning. They drafted pretty well, but let’s leave it at that or I might get sick.
Teams that I could have outdrafted myself
Miami- I can’t believe how dumb of a pick a team can make. Instead of taking a QB that they desperately need, they draft an injured kick receiver that I feel would be an NFL bust even if he was completely healthy and twice as good as he actually is. Hope they enjoyed wasting such a great pick on an above average kick returner.
Baltimore- Tried to make a deal for Quinn, but got outbid. Only decent pick was grabbing Troy Smith, the Heisman winner with their last pick. May not work out well, but at least if it doesn’t pan out, they didn’t waste a good pick.
Houston- They could have made the best picks in the draft, and I’d still put them here for taking Mario Williams over Reggie Bush last year. The 19 year old phenom Amobi Okoye should end up being a good 1st round pick, but that’s the only notable pick the Texans made.
Denver- Didn’t have many picks, and the ones they did have, they wasted by trading up unnecessarily to take players with character issues. I don’t like it.
Dallas- Lousy picks across the board, not much worth mentioning.
Philadelphi- Kevin Kolb? Seriously? He’s not a bad QB, but wayyyyyy too early for him. Only rational explanation I have for making that 2nd round pick is that the Donovan McNabb injury is much worse than they are portraying it to be. He will be the 3rd string QB next year at best, and they could have found some help in the 2nd in areas were they needed it much more.
Seattle- Worst draft of all teams. They didn’t have a 1st because they traded it to New England for Deion Branch last year. They also lost Darrell Jackson, who’s not even that old and is their 3rd best receiver in franchise history in terms of yardage for a 4th round pick. Then they reached on every other pick they did have.
