hey everyone...or anyone
i think we need to do something to get people more active around here. maybe push the draft up closer to the real thing to keep interest. there is way to much silence around the boards and that will lead to alot of no shows in 3 months when we are trying to get started again. ive seen it happen with a few leagues and i hope its not already to late...

Agreed, I think a little more activity would be beneficial. Not sure what the best way is to promote more offseason activity, as I kinda like that the entry draft is closer to the start of the season, so I'm not sure that moving it up is the best idea, but I'm open to discussing it for sure, which would generate some activity I think.
Seeing as the Cup Finals aren't even over yet (although I'm guessing it ends tonight, GO WINGS!!), maybe most just want a bit of a break from hockey and aren't quite ready yet to get back into just yet, or have other things on their plates that they prefer to do instead over the summer. I'm always up for hockey discussions, trade talks, discussing offseason rule changes, etc, but I can definitely understand the need for some to get away from it for a while.
Maybe if we can come up with a few topics to begin discussions, we can get some more talks going. The idea of moving the draft up is a good start. I'm looking to move a couple guys and am always up for discussing deals. There were some concerns over the rules last season, so now would be a great time to discuss any issues anybody might have in that regard, and get any issues wrapped up during the offseason, before the draft and the start of the season. I'm pretty happy with the rules as they are, and have no concerns going forward, but if anybody else has any issues, now is a great time to get them out in the open and get them resolved.

I kind of like where the draft is at right now, but if the majority wants to move it up that's not a problem with me.
One thing that I was actually going to bring up was expanded farm rosters. Personally I have a lot of players who I don't plan on keeping anyway so it's not a huge deal for me, but I know there was at least some brief talk about it when the whole points debate was going on. I'd definitely support maybe a couple more spots on our farm rosters?
I have a few centre prospects that are pretty good if anyone is interested in making a move. I'd be looking for RW's or D's. I also have two first round picks (6 and 11, I believe) and would be willing to move one for the right deal.
I've been pretty busy lately, but I'll definitely be on MSN more when next season gets closer.

I know, I've been trying to encourage people to be active and check the boards and things but other than that I really don't know what to do to keep people active. We could move the draft up if people want but I like it closer to the season as well. I'll start a thread to vote on farm team expansion and send out an e-mail to have people check the board and vote.
