Hey all,
I'm the new owner of the Detroit Red Wings.
I posted the brief bio and contact information under the appropriate thread, but I thought i'd take a little more space to introduce myself more fully.
You can all call me Fred (i am LFk- on the hockeyinformer boards), and i've lived most of my life in New Jersey. I've followed hockey since I was about 7 years old, the season in which the Devils heartbreakingly lost in 7 games to the New York Rangers and Stephane Matteau during the Conference Finals.
I've also lived in New York and Atlanta, and have a minor attachment to most of Atlanta's sports teams and a hatred for all New York teams. I might add that i've lived in Baltimore, Maryland for some time now. While the Devils will always remain my home team and #1, i've really only gotten the chance to attend Caps games in the recent years, and can't help but root for the team
My most hated teams are, predictably, the Rangers and Flyers. You can add the Avalanche to that list too.
I just finished up college and intend to move on to medical school. Aside from sports, I spend a pretty good chunk of my time playing console games. I recently got into No More Heroes for the Wii. I also enjoy revisiting old classics like Mario 3 and such.
In terms of other hobbies, I like to fire spin and breakdance. For those curious about what Fire poi are, picture any glowstick rave, but with flaming spheres instead of glowsticks. I also play (and follow) basketball, frisbee, and soccer. Despite a rampant love for hockey, I don't actually play it. I played roller hockey up to about age 12, and stopped. The United States just doesn't have that same passion that Canada does. For the same reason, I actively support moving at least another team or two onto Canadian soil.
Anyway, I'm glad to be aboard!
-Fred
