Oh and this thing about not being able to change rules before next year, to me seems a bit strange. This is a dynasty league, you will have the same players next year so it won't make no difference. I say we might as well take a look at it now as regular season will kick off in 5-6 months. If we feel there should be rule changes, they should be looked at before this whole thing starts. The initial draft is absolutely the single most critical aspect of team building. Bar none. Rules need to be set, and understood, before the draft takes place. If rules are initially patched together without considerable thought/discussion/agreement regarding the framework, simply to rush towards "the fun part" (draft), you end up with a borked league, and unhappy GMs. I don't know what you are trying to imply here. So some details were missed. It isn't like we didn't all try to analyze the system before.... just some things have to be tweaked in leagues to make them the best they can be. In this case, max moves doesn't really hurt anything from the draft. But overall it seems like you are saying that we F*cked up and now we gotta live with it. I, like Ottawa, disagree. You MUST be able on a yearly or bi-yearly basis be able to make adjustments or else a league is never perfected for the longrun. If you had it your way it sounds like nothing would ever be tweaked for the better.

I think the only reason why we would cycle players is because of these 3 scenarios:
1. Injured players 2. Players play 4 games instead of 3 that week (or 3 instead of 2 in certain instances) 3. Players playing against weeker teams, thus higher chance of blowouts and more pts.
I don't see how you managed to draft a bunch of veterans if you're not going to play them half the time.

If things get tight in a matchup, I can strategically move up/down guys in my farm. That was definitely part of my approach. I realize that they're down there for 7 days, and I'm obviously constrained by the rules. And I'm convinced that this insurance policy, combined with the preventative defense by keeping those players from other teams, is worth more than buying a lottery ticket on an unproven prospect. Just my opinion.
And Pitt, I'm not saying things should never change. I'm just saying it's ridiculous to change before we've even started. And in my opinion, it should take approximately a 2/3 vote to change any rule or statistic, as some decisions will have big impacts on teams' competitiveness. It should take a wide majority to make a change happen.
The only thing that I'm criticizing is the whole feeling I got where the rules seemed to be finalized with a "hurry up and vote, let's get this done so we can draft", approach. Perhaps you guys were on the board for some time hammering things out before I got here, and I'm being unfair. If so, I apologize. I just hope that rules aren't changed until we at least take a look at how the league unfolds for season 1. Making a change now would be extremely premature, that's all.

Atlanta, you're right. I forgot about the 7 day thing. I still think if someone uses 200 moves, that's quite a high amount, but I'm fine with leaving it.
